Anytime I see an interesting, unusual and unique approach in perfumery it immediately attracts my attention and I’m ecstatic when it gets justified.
I’m very much in love with the conception of making perfume based on specific memories or places you’ve visited and love. Olfactive Studio is perfect combination of contemporary photography and perfumery. Interesting, right? They are magically creating sensorial relationship between images and scents. All Olfactive Perfumes have absolutely unique, powerful and distinctive personalities. As a fan and also owner of two perfumes Flashback and Still Life, I was compelled to try Flashback in New York, preparing to be a little judgmental. I’m New Yorker after all.
I was wondering if Flashback in New York will absorb NewYorkiness (I think its the word!) and let perfume to create City atmosphere around me no matter where I am, just like one splash of Flashback (don't confuse it with Flashback in New York) teleport me back to Los Angeles, in Beverly Hills, because I associate Flashback with Los Angeles.
As soon as Flashback in New York reached my skin I could recognize immediately almost all promised notes. First one was Fresh Linen mixed with spiciness of saffron. I could smell leather and Birch smokiness, violet and little bit of Jasmine. Thankfully Jasmine doesn’t overpower other notes. I could also feel sweetness of Tonka beans and Vetiver. Although for a minute I felt like Bloodhound who could identify and brake down all scents apart, I enjoyed fragrant harmony of this perfume, how well all scents are blend in.
Exuberant perfume, Flashback in New York could be a Hymn to New York nightlife. You can wear it day and night. I think it’s perfect in Spring, Summer and even Winter.

Conclusion: Last notes is little bit too sweet for me, but its not turning me off.
